My Mum was one of the most amazing people in the world, she was better known as Betty Boo to those
who knew and loved her. She was so much more than a mother to me, she was my best friend. She loved
her family very much, especially my Dad Ken, they would have been married for 50 years come 14th
March 2009. She was Mother of 3, Grandmother of 6 and Great Grandmother of 4 beautiful boys,
Kerr,Charlie,Morgan & Mikey. The family will never forget how she tried to make her death as
painless as possible for all of us by making us laugh as much as possible despite being in the most
excruciating pain. She will live on in all of us! We miss her so very much.

Happy Birthday In Heaven - by Winnie Lovett

"Happy Birthday Betty"
It's sure to be the best one yet,
Though you left me here behind.
Did you think that I'd forget?

Your cake this year, will surely be,
A beauty to behold.
With the icing made of Silver,
And the candles made of Gold.

Yes, your birthday in Heaven,
Will be such a grand affair.
And I know you'll look so lovely,
With a halo in your hair.

The Angels will come from everywhere,
To sing your birthday song.
And I know they'll be so happy,
That you've joined, God's Happy Throng.

No I can't send a card this year,
Or give a gift so fine.
So I'll just send a special prayer,
To that wonderful Mother of mine.

Betty Boo

Hi Mum,

I am so upset, do you remember the goldfish we bought Mitchell when you where dying? He namd them Betty Boo & Kenny Ball after you and Dad! Well I returned home from London Yesterday after a great session (Took Mitch with me as schools was off), to be told that Betty Boo had died. How strange that she should die one year after we bought her, almost to the day! It is hard enough at the moment as it approaches your birthday and the 1st anniversry of your death without us loosing you in a different form! Mitchell and I broke our hearts.

Love and Miss you more than ever xxxx

Catch up

Hi Mum,

Just back from London! The job went very well and the client seems to be very pleased, so its all good.

More important, you are going to be a Great Grandma again, Stevanna is pregnant, due around Dad's birthday. I hope things go well for her this time as I don't think any of us could suffer another loss. She has already suffered 2 misscarriages and a third would just tip us all over the edge, so please Mum look after this baby for us. My little girl needs her Grandma to protect her and her baby. We all miss you so much Mum, you always made things seem so much better for all of us, we all knew we could come to you if things happen to be a little upside down and you would always help us fix it.
Look after all of us xxxx we miss and love you so very much xxxx

Hi grandma just doing my cleaning duties in mums office. Had a horrible dream last night, i was on the phone to you, you were still here but suffering and i could hardly hear you then all of a sudden i heard u fall. I woke up and thought to myself thank god that was only a dream then reality hit me. I still cannot believe you are no longer here it hurts so much. Not a week goes bye were something pops into my head and i think ill ask grandma or ill tell grandma. To then realise that isnt possible is so hard i miss u like crazy. The heartache never eases i just want to speak to u. I would love to sit down with you and do a crossword like we sometimes did when i stayed with u and grandad. Just simple things i took for granted are the hardest to replace. I am stuck for words now but just wanna let u know that i love u so dearly and will never forget the time we shared. I really love u grandma i miss u xxxxx

Life's Lessons - by Amanda

It’s not fair, I just can’t let go
I sit here and plead, why must she go?
She is my everything, my Mum and my best friend
Now that you have taken her, where do I begin?

Mum lived her life for others, giving until no end
She’s the one who told us to stand up and defend.
Defend our truths, defend our rights,
And live as we dream, defend the right to live our life anyway we see

You taught me life’s lessons, and undivided love,
Right from the beginning, when you told me not to shove.
Cuts and scrapes, bumps and bruises
Required all your love
Calming me when I was upset,
About who stole my favourite gloves.

Fresh baked bread in the morning, cookies in the afternoon
Watching Mum cook and bake, there’s nothing I’d rather do.
To have that chance, to have her back,
even the smell of her perfume
A Mother’s touch, her soothing words
To hear her say “I love you”

You lost a strong fight against Cancer,
Let it be what may
Even on your hardest days, you’d say
“I’m just having a no hair day”

Someday I will see you again
Not soon enough I know
I do my best to look past the how, look past the why.
Why so soon must you go?

You came, you loved, you conquered
This I hope you see
The only question I ask of you is,
Are you proud of me?
